Top 10 Problem In India For Astrophotographers!

Hello my name is gaurav I have been doing astrophotography for 2 years and with so, based on my experience, i am going to tell you top 10 problem in india for astrophotographer face and what is the reason due to which there are so few astrophotographers in India.

Top 10 Problem In India For Astrophotographer!

1. Astrophotography Is Expensive

I think money is the biggest problem because of which many people are not able to do astrophotography. If you are dependent on your parents then everything is on your parents, but even if you are self-dependent, you will have to work hard to buy a telescope.

2. Family Support Problem

As a from middle class family i can understand you, If you are dependent on your parents then it is completely up to them to understand you and get you a telescope so that you can do astrophotography, but most people are not that lucky. In India, they do not get this opportunity. Even if you get lucky and get a telescope, your parents will not let you do to much astrophotography as for them it may be a game or a time pass.

3. Overpriced Telescope in India

I think this is the biggest reason why people are not able to buy their favorite telescope. Most of these telescopes are made by foreign companies and the price of those telescopes is kept according to their country. But the price they have kept is not good right for India. As per India all these telescopes are over priced. But not only this, you will also have to pay shipping charges and taxes on these telescopes, due to which the price of the telescope increases even more, i.s. almost doubled.

4. Passion Vs Professional

One of the biggest reasons why not many people do astrophotography in India is that people are busy with their work. As you know, it is very difficult to earn money from astrophotography. It is a kind of passion but it is not so easy to turn it into a profession. In India, keeping their responsibilities in mind, people leave their passion and concentrate on their profession.

5. Indian Sky Condition in India

You know that for astrophotography it is very important to have clear sky but in India, the sky is always bad due to which astrophotography becomes even more difficult.

6. Telescope Availability in India

Although very few people are bothered by this thing but this is also a problem. It has happened to me many times that I needed a telescope or equipment of a company and it was not available in India. Compared to other countries, you will not find many astro gear in India or it can be said that it is difficult to find and buy them.

7. House Place OR Limited Space

This is also a big problem which we Indians are facing. It is possible that you may not be bothered by this problem, but many people are troubled by it and the problems are also different. It’s possible that your sky is blocked by a building or you don’t have enough space on your rooftop for a telescope.

8. Telescope and Your Safety Issue

Lack of security is a big problem for me too, I am troubled by it myself.
Unlike the rest of the country, taking a telescope outside or leaving it alone in the open can be very dangerous in India.
In fact, it is not safe at all to go alone to many places in India. You may be robbed or even harmed.

9. Neighbours' Problem

Although neighbors are not a problem for most people, but I think it might disturb some people. If you work with your telescope all day and all night, this may make many neighbors uncomfortable and they may even think that you are crazy Or wherever you set up your telescope, your neighbors might go there and gather a crowd and request you to let them use the telescope too, which can cause trouble for you.

10. Knowledge or Awareness

I think lag of knowledge is the biggest reason why there are so less astrophotographers in India because most of the people don’t know that there is something called astrophotography. But sometimes even those people who have knowledge of astrophotography they do not do astrophotography because it is a very knowledgeable, Patient and also very hard work.

So these were some reasons due to which astrophotography become difficult in india and I have shared all this information from my experience. I hope you will agree with this.

Yes these are very big problems. I am also an astrophotographer who does astrophotography for passion in my youtube channel ‘Astro-Telescopic’. I also face these problems much. Our skies are so polluted by light that I can see only stars of magnitude less than +2.5.
